I have an hourly task that was working in 10.3.5, but after an upgrade its not work. The man indicated that crontab should be in /etc and my is in /priviate/etc.
Does this need to be moved?
No. Actually, your problem is somewhat different. In 10.4, the new method for running scheduled tasks is launchd. For more info...
man launchd
man launchctl

My cron jobs work on 10.4 =/
Yes, you have cron enabled through launchd. --
