Because his jobs rather sillily expect a specific, funky
PATH.
What's incorrect about the
following:
my-ibook:~ srussel2$ crontab -e
## to edit your own crontab file
## add the following line to make an hourly
job
0

/full/path/to/your/script/you/want/to/run/every/hour
Nothing, and is how it would much better be expressed.
Even though launchd is the preferred
method going forward, this "old-style" cron syntax still
works. You may want to do a `man 5 crontab`.
Only if you use cron ;)
