pstat utility on 10.4

Hi all

Anyone know how to obtain the files and vnode info on a 10.4 sysyem since the pstat command is gone on Tiger?

Background, after some days uptime I get "Too many open files" errors on a busy 10.4.8 server (Xsan 1.4 client). Increasing kern.maxvnodes seems to help (sysctl -w kern.maxvnodes=360000, default is 90000), but I'm not sure about and want to know how many vnodes are actually used.
