I'm running an environment with several 10.4.8 Servers and many
10.4.8 clients and every so often the Software Update Server shuts
down and this is all I see in the logs (in Server Admin) prior to its
shutdown:
Fri Jan 19 10:32:42 2007: LOGTESTING: main sync
Fri Jan 19 10:50:00 2007: LOGWARN: We failed to check in with Apple.
Fri Jan 19 10:50:00 2007: LOGWARN: We failed to check in with Apple.
I've tried switching the clients to different servers that also run
software update, but they all seem to fail eventually. Are there any
other log files for the software update server that provide a little
more insight into why they fail or does anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks,
Jason
