I'm running an environment with several 10.4.8 Servers and many 10.4.8 clients and every so often the Software Update Server shuts down and this is all I see in the logs (in Server Admin) prior to its shutdown:If your SU service can't connect to Apple to check for updates it shuts off. Internet outages for short periods of time will often cause the same thing for me. A lot of times when several large updates are released it also happens (probably due to a timeout from heavy load on Apple's servers). Would be real nice if there was a checkbox to disable the auto-shutoff. Apple apparently thinks it's better for users to receive a error message saying the update server is down rather then letting clients access our current mostly up to date mirrors. Rasul --
