Network users have broken folder aliases after moving home directories

Hi

I have a G5 Xserve running 10.4.8 set up as an OD Master. I
had an issue with network users being unable to log in
after a previous user had logged out (resolved temporarily
after a restart of the machine). I found online that there
seems to be problems having several mount points for home
directories (I had 7) so yesterday I moved my network users
home directories from several seperate folders into one
folder. I unshared the original folders first and then
remapped the users to their homes on the new share point.
All users can log in fine now with no log in freeze that I
was experiencing before which is great. However now I see
that their own user folder aliases are showing as info.nib
folders in a finder window and when selected I get an error
message saying that the link is broken so network users
cannot open their folders such as Desktop,Music etc. Has
anyone else had similar experiences ? Did I miss a step
when moving home directories. Thanks for any feedback.
