I'm trying to get "vital hardware informations" (CPU Usage, CPU
temperature, Memory, ...) "à-la-ServerMonitor" with SNMP.
I use http://www.netmrg.net/ (very nice package of RRDtT
monitoring) and I need strings line 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.1.1.8.0
I have downloaded CocoaSNMP (GUI mib browser) But I 'am lost in
the trees
I googled a lot ... no result ...
Any hellp will be greatly appreciated
Perhaps, for us to help you, you could tell us more about what
you've done and how you have things configured, rather than make us
guess wildly, at which point someone might have something more
relevant to mention.
Dan,
Thanks for your time.
To be honest, I do not know what to answer.
I use NetMRG with Communigate. Stalker provide the MIB in this format:
http://mail.emerge.be:8010/CGatePro-MIB.txt
So it was very simple for me to create what NetMRG call a "monitor":
just add one of these string.
For exemple I took this one .1.3.6.1.4.1.5678.2.1.2.1.0 to monitor
the number of message in the queue.
Now, I try to find these kind of strings for the Xserve (without
success).
I have downloaded a MIB Browser (CocoaSNMP) and I have opened the
mibs found here /usr/share/snmp/mibs
I've tried with
iso/org/dod/internet/snmpv2 ...
iso/org/dod/internet/private ...
iso/org/dod/internet/experimental ...
I've tryed to snmpwalk leaf at the end of the branch, like:
iso/org/dod/internet/mgmt/mib-2/system/sysName -> .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5
(this one works)
Then, I searched for OID who store the temperature or the CPU usage
(or any others vital info, like free disk space, size of the
disk, ....) without success.
Do i am more clear ?
Thanks !
