servermgrd crashing with bus error

Main problem: servermgrd continually crashes and as a result,
ServerAdmin cannot connect to manage the server.

Hardware is a dual 2.5 G5 with 1.5GB of RAM. The system is on a 500gig
drive with about 360GB+ free.

FileMaker Server is also running on this unit.

System had this problem well before 10.4.10, and possibly before
10.4.9. All services seem to run, but since servermgrd fails to
launch, we can't easily adjust or change those services. The server
has been updated with the delta updates instead of the combo updaters.

I will try running the 10.4.10 combo updater shortly, but am not
hopeful for a fix. So, I'm posing this question: How can I determine
and fix whatever is preventing servermgrd from starting up properly
and not crashing?

From the system.log file when I try running it manually:

Jun 22 08:43:09 G5Server servermgrd: servermgr_dns: no name available via DNS for 192.168.1.2 Jun 22 08:43:09 G5Server servermgrd: servermgr_dns: no reverse DNS entry for server, various services may not function properly Jun 22 08:43:09 G5Server crashdump[1087]: servermgrd crashed Jun 22 08:43:10 G5Server crashdump[1087]: crash report written to: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/servermgrd.crash.log

From Terminal when I try starting it manually:

G5Server:~ root# servermgrd -d 2007-06-22 08:42:39.433 servermgrd[1083] *** _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x306010 of class NSCFData autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking 2007-06-22 08:42:39.433 servermgrd[1083] *** _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x306630 of class NSCFData autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking 2007-06-22 08:42:39.433 servermgrd[1083] Entering initialize 2007-06-22 08:43:09.587 servermgrd[1083] Starting idle processing Bus error G5Server:~ root#

Here's what I think is the salient portion of the servermgrd.crash.log:

Seeing the line about "S5Admin.servermgr_print" made me think about a
printer problem, so I removed all but one printer from the machine
with no change.

I have tried replacing the com.apple.servermgrd.plist file with one
from a "good" machine to no avail.
