I understand a little more about this issue now ....
My Ethernet interface is showing the servers IP address when I issue ifconfig, even though the ethernet is not plugged into anything and it is set to DHCP. I have tried plugging it in to the switch and tried manually setting it to another IP, neither worked!
Any ideas how I can clear this interface down and have it forget this IP?
Select it. Delete it. --
