Immutable Flag problem

G5 xserve running 10.3.9 server, Unlimited Users.  10.4.8 clients, problem doesn't affect 10.3 or earlier clients.

We've had this problem for a while, but it's gotten to the point where I have to fix it.  10.4 clients connect via AFP to our server and mount share points.  Most share points show as locked in the finder.  Users are not able to delete or create new folders with in the mounted share point, even though they own the files or are part of a group that owns the files.  Owner & group privileges are set  rwxrwx--- for all items.  When a 10.4.x client mounts the share point the immutable flag shows as set.  I log in as the owner on the server and no immutable flag is set.

I did find this article on the Apple support site:  http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303882&coll=cp which seems to describe my problem, accept the immutable flag is not set on the server & therefore cannot be removed.

Any suggestions?
