Re: Directory application question

Since we're talking about Directory, does anyone know where to find some
good documentation on this nifty little app?

Not really. I've spent about 25 hours this week trying to work out various things about 10.5 Server and finding annoying holes in the documentation. It has been a little frustrating because the services offered appear to be wonderful, but I kept missing the vital two sentences on how to do something. I've made more notes about Open Directory and iCal and the new collaboration features than I did on the whole of 10.4 and 10.3.

It's interesting to see that OD bound clients can add groups which show up
as normal groups in WGM. This is for non-administrative client connections
too. Seems like some kind of security hole, but then I don't have a wealth
of info on Directory.

You have to authenticate with Directory, and although it doesn't say so anywhere, it can tell the difference between someone who has just the privileges to change their own record, and someone with administration privileges.

PS: Thanks to Josh for answering my question.
