Has anyone run into a problem with rebuilding a software RAID mirror

Was this RAID, perchance, originally created in Panther?

No, it wasn't. It was created using the method of creating a mirror with one part missing, in order to mirror a server boot drive. (More or less what is detailed here: http://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20040827122302975)

I've done this before (in Tiger) and not had a problem.

This appears to be a bug many people (myself included) are seeing. Supposedly booting off the OS X install CD and using Disk Utility from there to rebuild the mirror works, but I haven't tried such.

I just converted over to SoftRAID instead - the new beta of it allows conversion of volumes from Apple RAID format to SoftRAID format and back without erasing the data. Rebuilding my mirror now with no problems.
