Re: bonding

Hi,

If you have both interfaces on the same subnet, the server always responds via the default network port. This is how it is supposed to work.

Hi List

we have a little problem here, on which we need your help.

We have an XServe Intel with an internal Ethernet (en0). This XServe serves our homes from the connected XRaid. To improve the throuput, we installed an additional ethernet board with two connectors (en2, en3). we bonded this interfaces together to bond0. So the en0 interface has the dns name xs-homes, and the bond0 interface has xs-homes2. we propagated the homes to the ldap as "xs-homes2:/Volumes/blablabla". this means, the afp connections should run throug bond0. So fine, so good. Now, when looking at the tcp traffic with the command "tcpdump -i en0" we can see, that all the outgoing traffic is running through the en0 interface. On the other side, the command "ipconfig -i bond0" we find, that the incomming traffic is on this interface. This means, the clients ask the server on bond0, and he answeres on en0. Is this a bug in the AFP implementation, or did we something wrong?
Any help is apreceated.

best regards
OH
