Just tried that. Still no go. This was to be my new production server for

What are your Apache access logs indicating? These will often give you a better representation of the issue?


How about the permissions on the index page itself rather than that directory?

Have you got a realm involved without realising it?


If I get no other suggestions, I may try using the preloaded apache2
instead. Can't be any worse off than I already am...
