Greetings all. I'd like to thank everyone for all their help in getting my
Apache server running again (problem was that every http request was given
a 403 Forbidden error). I was overwhelmed at all the suggestions of things
to check and try. And I was all very pleasantly surprised from the
off-list offers of further assistance offered. This case is more proof to
me that the MacOSX Server community group is a great one and a reminder of
why I continue to use and support Macs in my organization. Thanks to
everybody for the help.

And now, the fix, as explained to me: ServerAdmin somehow "broke" my
virtual host Apache config file putting the rewrite rules as 

                 RewriteRule .* - [F]
                 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} ^TRACE

instead of the reverse order causing all requests to be denied. Once the
order of the lines where reversed, everything works. I've no idea how or
why SA would have done this, 'cause I sure as hell didn't set those
options anywhere in SA and I also didn't make change changes to any of the
apache conf files. I'll make certain I manually backup my apache config
files before poking around in SA again.
