@work, I use the Apple VPN client, as a l2tp/ipsec client w/psk to connect to an openswan server running on the border of the network. There are some turn-key 'routers' (firewalls actually) that do this. Astaro for one. OSX Server has a vpn server as well, built-in, turnkey.
