Re: 3rd Party Graphic Cards...

I'm setting up an Xserve based rendering farm and would like to have the option to upgrade the graphics card. The X1300 has decent OpenGL hardware rendering, but some of the later generation cards have even better performance.

Greetings,

Does anyone have any experience using a graphics card other than the ATI X1300 in an Intel Xserve?
Is it even possible to use another card?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

You want to try to replace the built-in video ?
You read the specs, right ? Why take up an expansion slot with a video card when you have the supplied, built-in video functionality ?

How much time do you expect to spend sitting /at/ the Xserve, and why ? IE: tell us more about why you're asking.
