A service, possibly mail, but probably something else, is

Hence the problem.
Starting mail with the Server Admin gui doesn't change this. In the
gui I've given "System Administrator" and "Admin" valid email
addresses, and set up mail to forward to the ISP's SMTP server.
Still I only get the bounces. The problem seems to be that I am
unable to tell the system where to forward root's mail. Or perhaps
this mail should be going to some other entity. But since the
service is sending to < > ...
You've got mail on your system that's asking for local delivery.
Hence since lmtp isn't running, you get the messages.
How do I fix the mailing issue? And is it possible that the mail
issue is the cause of the error?
Stop sending mail.
I'd love to. But I can't find the service that is sending it.
Again, that is why I'm posting to the list.
