Re: RAM usage for AFP

I look at Activity Monitor to tell me how much virtual memory AFP is using.

Basically the questions boils down to whether or not we should get a new Xeon server for our students.  I am struggling with the decision because the 2.0 GHz G5 (10.4.11) that we are running  only reports around 30% usage.  Would the Xeon server help with the situation, or is the Network Home Redirector the way to go (probably it is regardless of what server I am using).

How are you measuring this "virtual memory" usage?  Apple lumps
"memory that applications have allocated but not used" and "memory
that has been allocated, used, and swapped to disk" under the same
heading.
