Re: RAM usage for AFP

We were thinking it might be network activity.  However, when I look at the Server Admin graph on Network Traffic, our peaks are just over 10Mb/s and this server has two gig switches between it and the lab computers.  Are these graphs accurate?  Is there another way I can measure the traffic?  I was considering doing link aggregation, but we dismissed the idea and went with fixing the thread count and buying more RAM.

Am I right in thinking that the fixes found in the UB of AFP came into the regular version through software update around 10.4.9?  If not, I would definitely consider reinstalling with a UB of Tiger Server.

Our issues could be disk based.  These homes are on a RAID 5 set (of four disks) in our Xserve RAID.

We are thinking of keeping our lab Tiger for the moment, to save on costs so Leopards built in NHR will be out.  So I will probably be looking into using scripts linked from the previous e-mails.

I didn't mention before...memory is not your problem. It's disk/network
activity.
