It's easy enough to test. Unplug your ABS from the lan and see if that's the issue.

I think Marc's right. I don't think you can segment your network like that with the ABS. Put it in Bridge Mode and see if it works then.

Yes, easy enough to test, which I did, with the same results.

I thought that with nothing connected to the ABS LAN port, it would leave the wired network alone. Logically, it would ignore DHCP requests on the WAN port, yes?

Note: At one point whilst stopping and starting the service, I noticed that a client Mac set for DHCP, but which had a self- assigned IP, would get assigned an IP when I stopped and restarted the DHCP service. Curiously, with an assigned IP, if I clicked the client's 'Renew DHCP Lease' button, a self-assigned address would result. It required stopping/starting the service again to get an IP assigned again. It did this a few times, then stopped working altogether.

So I'm back where I came in.

Question: Is there a way, via Server Admin, to disconnect a client, that is, rescind the address assigned?

I ask because I changed one client with a dynamic address to use a (different) manually assigned address but it continues to show up in the DHCP service Client list. It even survived a server shutdown and boot. This service unable to see that the MAC is not using the assigned address (which makes sense) but it would be nice to be able to remove the client from the list.

Remove the entry for the client's MAC Address from /var/db/ dhcpd_leases, then restart the DHCP services.
