--- Lynn, it seems to be working for me. I have a 10.4 Panther OD
domain and have just added twenty five 10.5 Leopard clients. We use
WGM/MCX to control Dock items, additional file server mounts, and a
number of System Preferences. Some prefs are managed based on
User/group and some by Computer id
When setting up the Docks for the 10.5 clients I had to use the WGM
app, running it on one of the 10.5 clients. It was the WGM app
that came with 10.5 Server, but connected to the 10.4 OD master,
where it saved its changes. Everything seems to work fine with the
exception that some of the Energy Saver settings aren't working right
on the clients.
I'm guessing that using the 10.5 WGM app to modify a 10.4 OD is not
exactly supported. (a word to the wise would be to have a fresh clone
of the OD master, ready to be swapped back into service, should
something break ;-)
