Oh, I can get it mounted. I'm just looking for settings for best
performance:
mount -t nfs -o
rw,tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,a=4,b,intr,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,rwsize=327
68,x=2,readahead=4 netapp-0000:/vol/vol0/animal /nas/netapp-0000-animal
Is what I'm currently using. NetApp has tuning papers for linux but
nothing for Mac OS X.
I'd like to benchmark my settings but bonnie++ from ports dies when
on the NFS mount but works on local disk. On linux, it works in both
cases.
thanks,
greg

Hello,
Does anyone have recommendations for the NFS options for mounting
a NetApp?
What exactly are you having problems with? This should work: mount -
t nfs host.name.goes.here:/path/to/share /path/to/local/target. E.g.:
mount -t nfs netapp.bowdoin.edu:/vol/run/backups /mnt/
netapp_backups
Chris
Also, with Linux, the mount command reports back all the options
used to mount a share. In 10.4 I get the barest amount of
information and certainly not enough to repeat the mount. What's
the appropriate way to get this info?
Finally, what's the recommended way to automount? And I don't
necessarily mean Apple recommended but rather works in many
conditions.
thanks,
greg
