ODR/ODM Problem

I'd like to be more specific for the subject, but I'm not sure what to say about the problem.

Here's what's happening:

I create a user, and set them up with an initial password, home directory, mail account (on another server the ODR), and save the record.

Everything works great, but when I go to meet with the user, we change their password, and it seems to work.

However, if we change the password on the mail server, we cannot authenticate to the AFP server (also the ODM, where we first created the user).

If I change the password via the finder while connecting to the AFP server, I can no longer access mail services.

It seems like something is messed up in the replication, but neither the old or new passwords work when authenticating to the "broken" service.

Please tell me what information I need to gather to be more helpful in my problem description. I would delete the Replication and recreate it, but I'm afraid that it will also delete the mail for those users.

I am running 10.4.11, and I would like to get this fixed soon, but if formatting and reinstalling will work, I am upgrading to a 10.5.4 box soon, and I can just wait until then.

Thanks,
Robert Everson

P.S. Sorry if this gets posted twice, I sent the first from the wrong email address.
