Re: Anyone using an eSATA card with an Intel Xserve?

Yes, I do.
Intel XServe MY 2006, OSX Server 10.4.>, Sonnettech v.2.1 driver, Sonnet Tempo SATA E4P card, 2 x Fusion500P bay, 10 x Hitachi Deskstar 750 disks.
On duty since 2006. No hassles on the eSATA side, faults on the Fusion500 bay side, warranty replaced with new model 500DP.

At the moment I can't tell if the drives are seen as SATA or SCSI.

Hope it helps.

Stefano

I was trying to use the Firmtek eSata card, but the Xserve (2006) doesn't recognize the card in either slot (an Apple FC card is fine). System Profiler doesn't show anything as being in the slot. Firmtek doesn't explicitly support the Xserve, so it can't
Does anyone have any experience with a PCIe eSATA card in an intel Xserve (preferably a four port, and even more preferably a card that supports port multiplying)? I also would prefer a card that recognizes the drives as regular SATA drives, not as SCSI drives (I believe Sonnet cards may show drives as SCSI-they aren't usable without a matching card).
