Several of our IT dept were at WWDC. They were attending a seminar and one of the attendees asked if there was a proper way to test for IP failover on one Xserve over to a back-up Xserve.

The presenter said that they should "Pull the power (to the server) and see if it fails over."

Is there a more constructive (read: professional) way to test IP failover? A script? something?
