ok used that. The snmpd process is running between 93% and 99% (is this an average across both processors?) on a dual 2 Ghz G5 with 4GB of RAM


Researching something on SNMP on the list and found this semi-old post which looks like it was never answered.

Everytime I've seen snmpd go off into la-la land and start sucking down lots of CPU, the following tweaks to the snmp config solved the problem:

This is for Tiger Server, FYI.
