| I have been experiencing frequent crashes (about 2 per day) with AFP running on a ODM as 10.5.3 (other services include swupd, SMB, DNS and Web). Here is what my log files from Server Admin server.log read before it goes down: Jun 24 13:12:17 server mds[108]: (Error) Server: Peer checkin failed -- no store for path '/Volumes/Raid1/X-PF_Image_Bank' Jun 24 13:12:17 server com.apple.AppleFileServer[313]: MDSChannelPeerCreate: (os/kern) invalid argument Except this is often repeated for all share points. This seems to completely hang the server and I have to perform a hard reboot. I suspect that it is related to spotlight and turning off spotlight indexing on my share points reduced the frequency of the crashes. However, I'm still crashing too often is it possible to disable the mds daemon completely without harming the server? Perhaps this isn't the issue at all? -- Huw Jenkins head of technology 50 Brook Green London W6 7BJ T +44 (0)20 7603 8666 F +44 (0)20 7605 1888 D +44 (0)20 7605 1897 This email is intended for the named recipient only.
