This is a known issue.
Your RAID was created with Apple RAID version 1, probably when you
were
using Mac OS X 10.3.x, and you are trying to re-build it using Apple
RAID version 2 which is what comes with Disk Utility in Mac OS X
10.4.x
What you'll need to do is copy the data off the version 1 RAID and
rebuild the RAID using version 2. Then you can restore the data. In
your
case, take the spare off-line and copy all you data to that spare
drive. Rebuild the Mirror using Apple RAID version 2 and then copy
the
data back.
Im pretty sure I created it with Tiger. Is there anyway to find out
what
version it was created with?
from your previous email, "diskutil checkRAID" shows:
Apple RAID Version: 1
Anything before Tiger would have that version.
