It doesn't change the fact that Apple is selling a product that they
advertise has the ability to provide IMAP email services.
And the product does. Quite effectively. There are servers all over
doing this now. I manage quite a few of them for quite a few different
organizations of various sizes and colors. No problems.
To tell somebody that they should take up problems they have with
that functionality with CMU and not Apple, and that Apple has no
responsibility (indirect or otherwise) if it doesn't work is just
plain ludicrous.
If you have a problem with Cyrus, then you need to talk to CMU, or the
Cyrus project, if you want new functionality or fixes. It's just plain
not Apple's product no matter how much you may care to whine. Apple
has warned you it uses third party and FOSS and that they take no
responsibility for it's flaws.
That said Apple will accept a bug report.
