Thread-topic: Issue with group email - Error 550 5.1.1 (10.5.2 Advanced Server)

Hi list,
I have an few issues with a medium 10.5.2 Complete Apple (Front & Backend)
environment.
This email (as you can see from the Subject) is about a strange issue with
group email addresses. I Have a 'Medium' sized environment (well I call it
medium, anyway) with ~3500 Users, 1100+ macs (mix of iMac and MacBooks with
a few MacPros for good measure...) and 10 Mac xServe's.
I have an Open Dir Master and 'all' other servers are Open Dir Replicas.
Due to our setup here with have the two 'Top Tier' Server (Master & 1st
Replica) that only have a few Client machines directly bound to them, then
we have 2 servers per 'School'. Each of the 4 schools are on the '2nd Tier'
And I try to keep each school 'self contained' each with its own Admin (that
works for/under me) Any 'shared' services like eMail are handled by the Top
Tier servers (Email is on the 1st Replica)
No that that is as clear as mud, Too my issue...
I have quite a few groups that I use as email groups, they all have a name
that starts with "mail-" and then a descriptive name, like the most simple
one that we use "mail-staff@...." this group has all of my staff members.
And this group works fine. The same as ~10 other groups that have been in
use for a few months now. The problem is that I now need to add a new mail
group. So I create a group add my users, even wait for the Open Dir to
replicate to all servers, but as soon as any users tries to send an email to
the 'new' group name we get the same error message:-
"NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from localhost[127.0.0.1]: 550 5.1.1
<email@hidden>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in
local recipient table; ...."
But the old groups I made a few months ago work fine....
Does anyone have any ideas or help they would like to offer ?
Has anyone come across this issue before ?
