Re: Promise VTrak RAID config question

Title: Re: Promise VTrak RAID config question
From what I understand if you buy the Apple version you get drives that are tested to Apples specifications and under warranty from Promise instead of from the drive manufacturer.

Your Apple rep probably has more information for you.

So what's the difference between buying one from Apple and buying an enclosure and 16 drives from CDW?

Apple
$15,000 for 12TB

CDW
$12,312 for 16TB
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1307107
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1242054

And yes, those drives are rated for that enclosure based on information from Promise on page 6 of
http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1242054

And the VTrak enclosure on CDW is listed as Mac OSX compatible on their spec page.

Just wondering, $15000 for 12TB or $12,312 for 16TB.  What am I missing?

Thanks,
Jay
