Mail delays

I am having a bit of a situation here.  There seems to be times that an e-mail gets sent out from a Mail client or an Entourage client, but is not delivered elsewhere till much later in the day (sometime 6 to 8 hours later).  I have tracked the e-mail to the server, there are no error logs, it just seems to not let it go until later on.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which ones go out regular and which ones are delayed.

I am sure there is more information needed, but I do not even know what info to add.

Any help would be much appreciated.
