| If you house the mysql database on the same server as the web server, which you probably do, then you need to sync both the web site root, data folders (if there are any), and the mysql databases. How you do it, I don't know, but I bet if you googled it you could find a script. In fact, here... Quick command line commands to copy and restore database to another server. I take no responsibility for them! I'm not very good with re-directing traffic from one webserver to another in a failover case, so can't help much there. Don't even know what to tell you to look into. Maybe someone else could give us a hint as how to do it. DNS? Redirects? Good luck That would work too. I basically want to prevent the site from ever going down or if the server gets hacked, I still have the backup one. The problem is, the databse... will I have to synch mysql dbs with eachother? And if so, that poses another question of "How do I do that?" |
