Re: Software Update Server Slow (Stopped?)

Hi,

I've got a Leopard server set up as an Update Server on our LAN.

When a client connects to it, the progress bar starts reasonably
quickly and then slows to a crawl. I normally give up after about an
hour and click cancel.

Any suggestions as to where the problem might be? On the clients (it
happens on all macs) or the server?

Is there a prefs setting I can remove to get it to reset itself?

Thanks,

Wayne

Hi,
you can try to start softwareupdate from command line, it's a little bit more verbose than measuring speed using progress bar :) Anyway, start top or Activity monitor on both machines a execute sudo softwareupdate -l command on client.
