Re: Using Promise Vtrak as a DAS

On May 7, 2008, at 7:50 AM, David Rocamora wrote:

I’m doing a real simple setup of one Xserve and one Promise Vtrak RAID. I would like to connect the Promise to the Xserve with two fibre cables. When I do this I get twice the amount of LUNs that are really on the Promise (each LUN shows up once for each port on the Xserve’s fibre card). I realize I can use LUN masking on the Promise to fix this, but I don’t really want to do this in case I need to swap the fibre card in a hurry.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Dave:

Go to the "Controllers" section of the settings and make sure you have "Enable LUN Affinity" enabled.
