What would be a real world use for having this?

Finally a supported way to go from Advanced mode back to Workgroup
mode :) Or maybe to reverse a system update. Or to yank the image and
fire it up on an isolated network to test a new configuration before
doing it on a live server, while having confidence that your test
server is identical to your production server.
