passwords resetting themselves after server reboot

Hi,

we have this issue that drives us crazy for the past years. If we
reboot the Xserve some of the user passwords reset themselves and
users cannot login from Mac client's login window, however login from
Windows to samba shared drive works fine. Every time it is exactly
the same users. I've even totally recreated them with different IDs,
and usernames. They still get reset!

Also this is not for new or old users. Some of the new ones works
without a problem but some don't. Alternatively some old ones created more
than a year ago has
this problem but most of them don't.

We are running two Mac OS X Servers 10.4.11 with latest updates
installed, one OD master and one OD replica. All Mac OS X 10.4.11 clients
are
configured to use the master only. We have also experienced this
with all Mac OS X versions starting 10.4.8 or so.

  Any help is very appreciated.
