Leopard Server - can't join a server to an SMB Domain

Dear Fellow Server Wranglers,

the upgrade from Tiger to Leopard went quite smoothly. In fact, I've only got one serious hiccup at this point. I can't join a Leopard Document Server to the Windows Domain.

I select "Domain Member", put in my info, then authetinticate with "diradmin" and the password,

It immediately reverts back to "Standalone" 

The logs show "NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER"

SO...."diradmin" isn't recognized as a valid users. Did the user info in OD somehow get hashed as far as the SMB integration goes?

Any suggestions?
