Question: is it possible to adjust a SUS in a way that it only starts downloading updates at a specific time point? It happens frequently (like today) that the SUS is claiming big parts of our bandwidth because it is right now downloading 10.5.3 i assume... It would be nicer to tell the server only check for stuff at 2 am ...

I checked the docs, but SUS is not very well documented and the UI so far has been "fragile" - i rather not touch it in fear that it start redownloading everything again :)

This apply to 10.4 Server, not sure about 10.5

SUS is controlled by 2 daemons - swupd and swupd_syncd.

admin$ ps aux|grep swupd
root 394 0.0 0.1 28124 824 ?? Ss 3Apr08 1:56.16 / usr/sbin/swupd
root 397 0.0 0.9 51380 11168 ?? Ss 3Apr08 1:00.45 / usr/sbin/swupd_syncd

You can start swupd_syncd from cron (launchd) nightly and kill it at start of business hours.
