Re:WGM search for AD Users/Groups & 1000 record limit

Kevin,

While this does fix the issue, it then makes your AD environment vulnerable to performance problems.  Depending on the size of your environment this might not be a issue, but it allows all records to be returned by a query.  We have 70-100,000 objects in AD, for us it's an issue.

MS returns the LDAP results in 1000 object chunks called pages.  WGM does not understand paged results and never asks for the next page if it needs to, it just uses the first 1000 and assumes thats all there is.  This same problem appears with some Sun LDAP tools as well, so its not just an Apple issue.

Changing the MaxPageSize is one approach, getting Apple to change WGM to understand paged results is probably a better answer in the long run and for true compatibility.

The problems with Workgroup Manager not seeing more than a 1000 records in LDAP is a problem with AD.  The link below shows you how to change the settings of AD so you can see all of your accounts. MaxPageSize is the value you want to change so that Workgroup Manager can see all of your users. Change the value to the level needed to see all of your users.
