Did a clean install, updated to 10.5.3, set up DNS, Open Directory and
all it well. I set up Users Home folders and I could see them all in
the Finder. AFP is running and Automount is enabled for the share
point where the user folders are located.
On the client side, Directory Utility is properly configured and the
Open Directory Server is responding normally. However, when I try to
log into the server using Other in the main login screen I get the
error message, "You are unable to log in to the user account
"username" at this time. Logging in to the account failed because an
error occurred." Then the login window shakes.
From the Finder I can login using the same username and password and
mount the home folder there.
I did a search on google and found other people having the same
problem going back to 10.4, but no solutions and I can't figure it
out. Any help would be appreciated.
