What if the client isn't a web browser...it's an email program, or chat, or RADIUS? So many things use certs now....I had no idea. How do they react to a wildcard cert?

Yes, most things that accept SSL certificates from a server with a certificate will accept a wildcard cert without warning the user. This isn't really a Mac OS X Server issue; this is a general issue of how wildcard certs are handled/accepted by various clients.


I personally only have direct experience with wildcard certs used with web sites.
