Re: Runaway winbindd processes

I've not seen an obvious cause for this so just wondered if anyone had seen anything similar. We've got a server that's bound to AD with a golden triangle setup. It's acting as an OD Master and is providing SMB and AFP services. All of a sudden (within the past week) winbindd has started going nuts, and eventually ends up with multiple winbindd processes that eventually hammer all of the available CPU cores to 100%.

Tracked it down to a corrupt idmap_cache.tdb file in /var/samba by the looks of things. Stopping SMB, removing that and then restarting SMB seems to have cleared it.
