hi-

The account I made when installing Mac OS X Server (10.6.1) is receiving email even though I didn't turn mail on for it in Workgroup Manager.

spammers found the account and now it is receiving email.

I don't seem to be able to find out how to turn mail off to that account.

(obviously the acct. is in the local domain).

any hints?

Did you go with an Advanced setup ? That's probably what most on this list are working with. What might or might not get enabled with the other configs,
could be different from what you intend.

If the shortname of the user in question is ibland , then see what the result (in the Terminal) is for:

dscl . read Users/ibland MailAttribute

That gave:

No such key: MailAttribute

Then I turned mail on for the acct. and it gave a dictionary. Then I turned mail off for the acct. and it gave "No such key: MailAttribute" again.

either way: on, off the mail was delivered to the account.

With mail on, when I set Mail Quota: 0 MB mail was still delivered.

thanks!-
