Re: Xraid controller issue

I had a similar issue recently when a drive unit in my XRAID died (7 years running almost 24/7, second drive in that time, not bad). One side of the RAID would not power up properly, and RAID Admin said there was communication issues with the controller running that side of the RAID. I did a reboot of the system in RAID Admin, which brought the second controller back online.

Hi,

We have an Xraid that we can no longer power down
via its power button. Additionally we can no longer
fully power up one of the controller modules. The latter
is a more pressing issue.

When we press and hold the power button for 10+ seconds
on the back of the Xraid, controller1 will go off, but
controller2 won't go off. The disks for both controllers
remain on. Now when we press and release the power button, all the
status lights for controller1 become green except the
controller status lights on the front and back are blinking green.
The controller2 side seems normal.

When the data host is powered on, the disks for controller1
are not mounted and the disks for controller2 seem fully functional.
Prior to trying to power down the Xraid, everything was working fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Paul

When system host and RAID are powered on, what does RAID admin tell you?
