Unlocked USB ports in a locked Xserve?

Dear Fellow Server Wranglers,

Is there anyway to use the enclosure lock on an Xserve, and still have the USB ports accessible (some command-line sorcery or whatnot)?

We have a product that uses a USB licensing key....awkward to say the least.

I want to lock the enclosure because it's so *^&(* easy to accidentally knock out an Xserve drive module if you aren't careful.

Thank you,
-Matt
