Hi, everyone.
Has the list been very quiet lately ? I haven't received any e-mails for the
last several days. I wonder if there is a problem with my subscription.
I have a question for those who have the Mac mini server with OS X Server
and 2 internal hard disks installed. I've read on a few web sites that just
upgrading the standard mac mini with one internal hard disk from a slower
5400 rpm drive to a faster 7200 rpm drive can cause an increase in
temperature and the fan to be on for more extended periods.
After reading this I began to think that this may be even more of an issue
with the mini server since it has two internal hard disks installed and this
should lead to even more heat being produced. Considering how small the
mini's enclosure is and the fact that it can't possibly accommodate a fan
that is very large, I wonder if the mini server overheats.
For those who have the mini server have you experienced any problems with
heating or head dissipation ?
TIA,
Joe
