Re: Rootdev help

Pdisk can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.mklinux.org/pub/mklinux-pre-R1/ppc/MacOS_Utilities/

get pdisk.hqx and be sure to read all of the file pdisk.html

It is not hard tu use but the info is different than Mac users are used to seeing.

Hi

Hi, I am trying to install MkLinux-R1 (G7) via ftp, but it says that it cannot find bootstrap.conf. I believe that the wrong rootdev is in the lilo.conf file. What would that be when the mach_servers folder is on the top level of my internal SCSI hard drive (scsi id=0, format=HFS)?
I am using a PM 6100.

If you have only one partition it could be /dev/sda5, but this can vary.
In case, that this does not work, you could download an utility
called pdisk which also lets you initialize your hard disk in a
Linux compatible format. It should be somewhere on the web but
I can't remember where exactly. I'm sure somebody else on this list can help you
with this.
