I think you can. 1st, partition your hard drive. Then mount the image and copy the whole thing (CDROM) to a hard drive and install the files that are in the MkLinux-install folder. Edit lilo.conf to what I mention later. Then restart. Once the installer starts, choose 'Local hard drive' or something like that and choose the partition that the files from the image are on (see below to figure out which to choose, remember that in /dev/sdX?, X is the SCSI id letter-->a=SCSI id 0, b=SCSI id 1, and so on, and ?=the partition number.) Then it should install like it normally would.

Copy mach_servers to the top level of your internal hard drive. Then rootdev should be /dev/sda5. Check this by opening pdisk, hitting l and then entering /dev/sda. Look for the line that says: Apple_HFS untitled. The number before that is the partition number and is normally 5.
